Jabrayil's Hidden Gems

HISTORY

Jabrayil is a city in Azerbaijan's southwest, historically part of the Karabakh region. It has ancient roots, with significant archaeological finds. In 1993, it was occupied during the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Jabrayil remained under Armenian control until 2020, when Azerbaijan recaptured it during the Second Karabakh War.

CULTURE

Jabrayil's culture reflects its Azerbaijani roots, characterized by traditional music, dance, and cuisine. The region's folklore and craftsmanship, particularly in carpet weaving, are notable. Despite the displacement of its population during the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the area's cultural heritage remains vibrant, influenced by its rich history and post-war recovery.
